Finally Winter As We Know It

Well I guess we got what we were asking for (or some of us anyway)!

We needed the snow, as ~30% of the course was completely exposed to the cold wind and temperatures. Snow is the best insulator to protect the fine turf against winter desiccation.

At the course, ~12″ dropped last night, but even more impressive was the drifts, some areas are three feet deep! Below is looking at the pot bunker on #7, which has been drifted in.

Our Assistant, Brian Richert, has just finished up grooming the snowshoe/walking/ski trails. The front and back 9 loops both start at the driving range tee.

  • If you walk or snowshoe, please stay all the way on the left side of the trail (going down #1 and #10)
  • If you skate/Nordic ski, stay in the middle
  • If you classic cross country, stay all the way on the right side

This way, everyone’s preferred trail keeps its integrity. Please stay on the trails as they will keep you off the fine turf areas!

Please come out and enjoy!
