Rainy Blues….

We knew the forecast for this week was poor for aerification, but now the continued rain is poor for play. We’ve received almost the entire month’s average rainfall in just this week alone.

Carts will not be allowed for play today after yesterday’s 1.70″ of rainfall.

However, we will attempt to make the golf course as playable as possible. Some bunkers will not be raked as they have water in them, greens will not be mown or even rolled, as damage will be done by any equipment driven on playing surfaces.

With almost 3.5″ of rain this week, we haven’t been able to get the much needed maintenance completed in the past few days to make up for lost time during aerification. The soils are at field capacity, meaning they can no longer take in water, as they’ve reached their maximum holding capabilites. There is standing water throughout the property, in places you might have never seen before. It will take today and tomorrow for the water to drain.

Let’s hope for sunshine, wind, and warmer weather to firm things up. Hopefully, we’ll get caught up on our work, and you’ll get caught up on your rounds in the near future.

Thanks for your patience,

Mike

Mike, thanks for the update on course conditions after the heavy rains.
We will have a brilliant green course with great rolling greens in a few days.
    Thanks
