At the time, we were battling up to 400 geese during the migratory times of the year and most years there were up 100 geese that stayed on property the entire golf season. The golf course was riddled with goose droppings, and the annoyance of the geese took away from enjoying the serenity of the property. I’ve been told that Sam quickly changed all of that, he was highly trained, did his job well and loved every second of it. More importantly, he became a part of the experience of playing golf at Midland, and became our mascot. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-693 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sam-Goosing.jpg?resize=485%2C364\" alt=\"\" width=\"485\" height=\"364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sam-Goosing.jpg?w=2816&ssl=1 2816w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sam-Goosing.jpg?resize=300%2C225&ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sam-Goosing.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sam-Goosing.jpg?resize=220%2C165&ssl=1 220w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sam-Goosing.jpg?resize=460%2C345&ssl=1 460w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Sam-Goosing.jpg?w=2000&ssl=1 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 485px) 100vw, 485px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-692 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_0162.jpg?resize=494%2C371\" alt=\"\" width=\"494\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_0162.jpg?w=1600&ssl=1 1600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_0162.jpg?resize=300%2C225&ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_0162.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_0162.jpg?resize=220%2C165&ssl=1 220w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mhccturf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_0162.jpg?resize=460%2C345&ssl=1 460w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 494px) 100vw, 494px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n
When I started in 2010, Sam was still chasing geese each spring and fall.
