Now that the snow is done falling we have groomed the winter trails. We decided not to groom yesterday because of the wind as they would have been covered within minutes of completion. However, the wind was so steady and strong that it blew most of the snow off high exposed areas, leaving almost bare ground and depositing the snow in low areas where it’s now very deep. We have altered the trail slightly to avoid as many bare areas as possible. We were not able to lay classic tracks down, there’s just not enough of a snow-base to do so. That doesn’t mean you cannot come out and classic ski, so if you’re planning to come out today or over the weekend, you’ll have to create your own track. The temperatures looks to warm for the weekend and there is potential for more snow early next week, which is much needed for a better trail and protection of the turf from subzero temperatures.
